Age Is Just A Number For 19-Year-Old XFC Star Austin Bashi

DESTIN, FLORIDA, April 1, 2021 – What were you doing when you were 19 years old?

Austin Bashi may be young, but the 19-year-old Michigan bantamweight is quickly establishing himself as one of the most exciting prospects in the sport.

He further staked his claim as a Blue Chip prospect with a third-round submission victory over the previously unbeaten Mason Iacobellis in the YoungGuns 1 Co-Main Event on Saturday at FireLake Arena, LIVE on FOX Deportes.

Bashi admits he felt some Hexagon jitters fighting in a marque bout in the XFC’s inaugural YoungGuns 1 event, but that didn’t get to him on fight night.

“Of course there are going to be some nerves and I’m going to feel a little extra pressure, but these are exactly the types of fights and moments that we’ve been training for,” he says after his victory. “I knew exactly what I had to do, and I’m happy with my performance.”

With two XFC victories under his belt, Bashi is feeling better than ever heading into his next bout in the Hexagon.

“I’m feeling really good. I’ve got some good momentum behind me, and I love fighting for this organization,” the West Bloomfield Township, MI fighter says. “The XFC does an amazing job of promoting us fighters; I love being a part of the XFC family.”
